Wrong.

They do that when the internal flash ram inside the USB stick doesn't meet minimum read & write speed requirements.

The best test to determine whether or not a flash drive will work well for games is the Shank demo. Download and run that demo.

If it runs full speed, smooth animations, no choppy framerate, the USB drive will work just fine for other games.

If that demo does NOT run full speed, if the framerate is choppy, or worse, runs about 1 frame every 5 seconds, then the drive is too slow and will exhibit problems in other games as well.

i actually have a PNY drive that passes the test, but does have noticeable blips once in awhile
