I learnt about history in Civilization IV and I learnt how to play music playing Pro Mode on Rock Band 3.
They were actually quite educational but it didn't feel like it was educational.

I learned everyone playing that new "Mature" rated game is an eleven-year old boy with an eleven-year old girl's voice. And they all want to say racist and homophobic vulgarities.

That being mortally wounded just means you need to hide behind cover for a few seconds.

Morality can be quantified and gives you bonuses if you maintain high levels of bad/good.

That all children are invincible and totally obnoxious, except off screen.

Tattoos can convey mystical power.

Enemy combatants have infinite grenades.

Enemies in a game will often ignore your allies completely and just attack you.

The main player character is always the savior of the world and never the sidekick.

Characters in videogames often get special abilities or weapons that only seem to work in cutscenes.

On the opposite side to this, the hero who has gunned and or beaten down waves upon waves of enemies with his sword is put in a place of weakness during a cutscene that the player themselves would have just shot and or beaten his way out of as he or she had done for several hours up to that point.

That you can kill someone by shooting them in the feet.

When people die, they just disappear.

Guns don't kill people...gamers do.

I learned that in any rpg games you can just walk into a strangers house and go through their drawers and whatnot.

In theory there is no difference between theory and practice - but in practice, there is.

Lol, yeah that is another classic trope!

You can run around naked in a videogame without getting arrested

Regular enemies can take a bullet to the head and still carry on fighting, the same goes for the player

Sandwiches and orange juice effectively heal zombie bites. (Dead Rising)

Cops don't care if you drive erratically, as long as you aren't drunk. (GTA IV)

Combining a wedge of cheese with a block of cheese makes Resist Fire potions. (Oblivion)

You can usually shoot your friends, mentors, bosses, etc. and they don't seem to notice. (Borderlands)

Monkeys can breathe underwater. So can Italian plumbers. (DKC / Mario Bros.)

Swords are more deadly than guns, lasers, and explosions. (Final Fantasy VII)

Fatality aren't fatal if you've got pocket change. (Mortal Kombat)

Unless your name is Duke, you don't use the bathroom, and even then you only pee if you want to.
