Users can now watch Comedy Central, CNN, and the Cartoon Network without a set-top box -- the Time Warner Cable TV app goes live on Microsoft's game console.

Xbox 360's TV and movie offerings just keep growing. Microsoft announced Tuesday that its Time Warner Cable television app is finally live and hosting 300 channels, including Bravo, Cartoon Network, CNN, Comedy Central, and more.

Besides a bevy of channels, the app also features a TV guide; filtered search based on shows, channel names, and genres; Kinect voice and gesture control; access to genre-based radio stations; and more. The app is only available to Xbox Live Gold members who have a Time Warner Cable subscription in the US.

Microsoft has been making a strong push into entertainment with its Xbox 360, and hopes to continue that with the upcoming Xbox One. The company has promised that the Xbox One will allow users to instantly switch between watching live TV and playing a game.

Similar Time Warner Cable apps are already available on Roku boxes, iOS, and Android devices. Apple TV is also rumored to be getting a Time Warner Cable app. The Xbox 360, meanwhile, also already offers similar cable apps (albeit with more limited channel lineups) for Fios and Comcast Xfinity customers.

The partnership between Microsoft and Time Warner Cable was first announced in June. Xbox said it will add video-on-demand to the Time Warner Cable app later this year.
