GTA 4 still worth playing ?

#1rhino504Posted 9/17/2013 9:31:04 AM
I'm fairly new to the 360, and was thinking of getting GTA 4 complete edition (includes the 2 DLCs). I don't want to but GTA 5 now.

Is GTA4 still worth playing nowadays ?

Or should I just play the 2 DLCs only ?

It's still a great game.

This guy literally knows nothing.

But to answer your question, I would say it's worthwhile, although I will say at times the story missions will get repetitive. (for core GTA IV I haven't played any DLC.)

Now go and play GTA5 and retract that statement!

@TC: GTA4 is a good game, many will argue that they do not like the protagonist, some will mark points off for not being as open as SA whilst forgetting that they are playing the GTA3 world. Personally I am with the former group.

You can enjoy the DLC missions and play around in that world, no body will complain with you for that as it does put the mindless fun back in to that world, which 4 missed.

Honestly I don't know why GTA 4 got the hate it did.

I thought it was a great game.

Are there better games? Arguably. But GTA 4 gave me plenty of hours of fun. If you don't want to pick up 5 just yet, go find a cheap copy of 4 with TBoGT and TLaD. Still completely worth it.

Just remember to turn the cell phone off if you don't want to be bothered. I lost track of how many people complained about this, even though you can turn the feature off completely.

Might as well play GTA4 first to get used to it, The Lost and Damned has better bike driving and The Ballad of Gay Tony is the best in terms of story and gameplay, they both have their own add-ons like new weapons and gameplay stuff. By the time you finish all three, you probably have a good opinion on GTAV by then.

However, keep in mind that GTAV is more than likely far more improved, so don't go thinking GTA4 and GTAV are going to be the exact same thing.

It's a fun game for about the first 20 hours but then kind of got stale for me. I've had the DLC disc for a while now but I'm just getting around to playing it.
