How did they get GTA5 to look so amazing?

Seriously, anyone disappointed with the visuals and thinks they shoulda just held out for next gen needs to turn in their gamer card and find a new hobby. I have never seen another 360 game handle that amount of variety and detail without hiccups or screen-tear let alone be able to make such smooth transitions between exterior and equally polished/detailed interior environments!

Considering the vast amounts of textures, geometry, sound, animation, and physics going on at the same time and the very limited amount of RAM the 360 has, this game should be impossible to run as smoothly as it is.

Totally agree, impressive.

I suspect that they began work on it right after GTA IV. Tons of development time. But you can tell that this is the game that pushes the PS360 completely to their limits.

Low texture resolution.

Though to be fair, I'm liking the installation system. The thing that usually plagued GTA was object pop-in, where sometmes you'll drive down a street and a building just loads all of a sudden because the game was playing catch up. I've yet to see that happen.

The crazy amount of detail in this game is unlike any other game I can think of. It's so damn life-like and gorgeous. They really did a great job on this game.

makes you scratch your head when games that look considerably worse... stutter and perform horribly on a power pc. answer is programming/developing time for specific specs.

Is the game streaming the audio and animations off the disk while the HDD has the textures and physics engine? Because it's one thing that the game looks as good as it does but it's even more impressive when you think how it makes that transition from outside to inside with no loading. Or starting a mission with tons of unique dialogue and animation with no loading.

I saw someone say the graphics look the same as IV. They are either high or trolling, this game looks amazing.
