So what is your game of the generation?
This was a really tough choice for me but ultimately Dark Souls. To me it is one of the most creative and innovative games around. When I say innovative, I don't mean it introduced some new mechanic or graphical system that will be used. I mean innovative in design and execution.

very tough, but mass effect 2
spectre status recognized......
Rapture and the huge twist in the story really stood out to me. It was also one of the first games I played during the generation and I was amazed by the aesthetics.

Fallout 3 or New Vegas. They are both top of the list for me & I can't really pick between them.
I can't name just one because there is a series of them in terms of what is my favorite. Forza Motorsport 2-4 because of the realism and graphics. Gran Turismo used to be my favorite driving games but Forza has better control I feel especially for a controller based racing video gamer such as myself.
Going through the responses, it looks like Fallout 3 has gotten the most love and I can't blame anyone for saying that, such a fantastic game. Seeing a lot of Dark Souls and Mass Effect as well. Thought I'd see more votes for the Batman Arkham games. Just curious and on a side note, am I the only one who liked Arkham Asylum better than Arkham City?
Not really, I feel the same. Liked the atmosphere more in AA than in City.
The Unofficial Iron Castle that Smashes Through Mountains of every board in the multiverse. ppl who got it:2
The official Tlaloc of the SMT IV board.
Vanquish or Metal Gear Rising
If ya want the stains out now get the bleach - Styles of Beyond
My favourite series of all time is Mass Effect.
Having to pick one of them... well, it isn't ME2. I like a lot of the gameplay in 3 compared to 1, but 1 was where it all started and was such a marvelous game to find via relatively random purchase.
Because I quite like the ME3 Multiplayer too, I'll go for ME3 as the best game.. ever.
Assassin's Creed 2
Orange Box - specifically for Portal which was pretty mind-blowing the first time you played it.
Skyrim, Oblivion and Fallout 3 - all great.
Backlog (6): Blue Dragon, Sacred 2, Risen, Mind Jack, X3, Dungeon Siege 3
Closely followed by RDR, Bioshock and BF:BC2.
F:NV is a true sequel to Fallout 2. I cant give it higher praise than that.
