The thumbstick placement.. is just so awkward for me... I cannot use it -_-

How do you guys adjust to it, and do you guys not find it a bit... misplaced?

It's much better than the DualShock's setup, IMHO.

My thumbs always clash on ps controllers. Too small, lacking resistance.

i'm pretty used to the button controlling my character being there
sms, nes, gensis, snes, tg16, ps1, ps2*, xbox, gamecube, xbox 360, wiiu, gb, gg, gba, nds, psp

i think the only systems i used that didn't have it that way were atari7800, ps3, and some later ps2 games

You'll get used to it. I find the Playstation controller layout to be clumsy compared to the Xbox 360 controller layout.

I like the stick placement for the 360 controller just a little bit more, but I'm able to use both the 360 and PS3 controllers just fine.

Really, the only thing I dislike is the L2/R2 on the PS3 controller. Fortunately there are options available, I just haven't gotten around to getting them yet.

It puts your thumbs in a more natural position when you're playing action/adventure, platforming, etc. type of games where you use the face buttons more than the second stick.

That said, I play a lot of FPS and I still prefer the 360 controller's layout. The PS3 puts both of my thumbs in awkward positions rather than just the one.

Is that because most of you started with the xbox controller first? I know alot of the snes/ps controllers who used the xbox afterwards had the same problems. Its weird because most of the xbox users say that the xbox controller feels more natural, while the ps say the same about the dualshocks.
I guess I just need to get more used to it, but my hands just get weird on me with the xbox for now T_T

I started with arcade, Pong, and Atari 2600. I thought the SNES was perfect until the Dual Shock 1 and 2 came along. I didn't think a controller could be better, but I needed a new PC controller and bought an Xbox 360 wired controller. D-pad aside, it's damn near perfect, with the stick placement being the best part.

When it came time to buy a new console, the controller is what made me go with the 360 over the PS3.
