Does Assassin's Creed III have the worst opening ever?

It takes forever for the game to actually get fun.

Enough is enough I have had it with these motherf****ing vampires in this motherf****ing rain.

I liked Haytham as a character more than anyone else in that game, so....no.

Final Fantasy XIII waits until 70% of the game to even give you so much as full access to the combat system.
At least AC3 did it in what, 5 hours? Hell most games these days aren't 5 hours, let alone tutorials.

Really? where at?
Im at disc three and I'm still doing the same thing over and over again.
Walking on a straight path >> defeat enemies/boss >> cutscenes >> repeat.. etc

Then I finally quit. (I should've quit early in the game)

That. And it's not like the missions got much better when you started playing as that boring dude who's name I couldn't bother remembering.

A far worse intro would be Final Fantasy XIII's. A 25 hour tutorial for a 30 hour game is not the way to go.

Yeah, the opening with Kenway was fun for me.

AC3 as a whole game was trash, the opening with Kenway was fantastic though.

Assassins Creed 3 is exemplary of the problem with yearly installments: it's always the same friggin' game. "Hey, we have this new tree running mechanic but the woods is isolated to just one area- hooray borders!" Said the whole dev team. I hated the naval warfare as well. All you're doing is lining up ships at imprecise speeds. No thank you. This is the same reason I'm avoiding AC4- without even looking at a trailer I know that it's still running around in restrictive areas doing repetitive quests with crappy stealth and irritating ship battles. The series always had potential, but it's too set in its ways now to ever be good

So very much, this!

Easily my favourite character so far from the series.
