Brink - Maybe because I got it a months after the initial launch firestorm for dirt cheap, and had no idea what to expect.
Halo:Reach - Living Dead :)
Too Human - Actually didn't like the demo too much, but took a chance anyway
FFX-2 - Liked it alot more than X that's for sure
Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict - Because sometimes change is a good thing
Halo 2 - Believe it or not, but back then everyone in school were pro-Sony/Nintendo, and hated Halo with a passion. I'd always have to let them know what happens in H2 after you finished the story, and you've done whatever else. ''You can play online!''
Warriors series - Because no one does it better? They have tried tho
Neverwinter Nights (Bioware)
''I couldn't help but notice your pain!'' ''It runs deep, share it with me!''
Yup. That's how you defend a game's story: if you don't understand it, you're stupid herp derp.
The sad reality though is that this is usually the case
It's really not tho
I must have missed the part where I said this is 100% true...
If you have spent anywhere near the time I have on this board, you would realize that most users don't know basic English or Math.
Just because you don't say something is 100% true, doesn't mean you are exempt from people disagreeing with you.
And yeah, gamefaqs can be soul crushingly stupid, but the users here are hardly indicative of the entire gaming populous. I'd put money on the fact that people being too stupid to understand a story, so they don't like it is not really all that common.
