So how is everyone enjoying Dead Island?

4/10 for me so far. It feels like all im doing is going to some obscure location, defeating the zombies there, and bringing something back for someone else, all by myself with no help.

Make sure you're using analog controls makes the game a million times better.

and since you have gold, why not go online? its fun offline but online its better, but also waaaay easier then it already is.

as for me, I'm loving it kinda, I'm on the last story mission working on all other side quests before the prison.

It's a decent game, flawed but fun. DI is the only first-person zombie game I've played and the perspective makes fighting zombies interesting.

I like the setting and I don't mind the fetch quests too much because some of them make sense in the context of the game. Finding medical supplies or spare parts to fix a car are things I imagine would be important in a situation like that. I do wish the game didn't have quite so many of them though as missions variety is always good.

The game is much more fun in co op. I agree though that the game doesn't give you AI companions who accompany you on missions that often.

I played it when it first came out so my memory may be a bit foggy. I don't recall it taking that long for me to reach the city. I like the resort area as the mixture of blood and sand is unusual. The city is a cool part of the game though as it introduces more zombie types, human enemies etc. Stick with it and you should reach the city before long.

I just started playing the game again after downloading the GwG version.

I'm enjoying it pretty well so far, I am about 4 hours into to the game and I find it quite enjoyable. I feel like the controls could have been a little better and the facial animations of most NPCs are sometimes downright awful, but the game is surprisingly awesome. Even more fun when you drop in coop, it's really well done.

What I don't like is that the zombies level with you, while it does give you steady progression (you keep leveling at a good pace), it eliminates the feeling of accomplishment, you don't feel stronger as you level up, since all you enemies do exactly the same.

don't worry, you'll soon have more guns then you need, just do the sidequests.

analog makes any already average game worse. >.>

ive been using it just to get that achievement and omg it's terrible. you lose control of your character when in "combat" mode, so you're just standing there flailing away.

terrible terrible controls.
