So, what's the consensus on RE: Revelations?

I've been eyeing this one for a while now, and it finally hit a decent price - $18.88 on Amazon:

This is the only RE game I don't have for the 360, and I am a completionist.... it can't possibly be worse than O:CR, right?

I enjoyed the game and I think it is worth buying for the right price.

I have the original 3DS version, and it's a really good entry in the series. Honestly, I think it's the best RE I've played since RE 4.

The single-player campaign is solid and enjoyable, and the episodic nature of the story works well (remember, this was a 3DS title originally), the gameplay is solid, adding a new 'scanning' element to help you get more ammo.

And I've never been a fan of the Mercenaries mode in Resident Evil, and in Revelations, they did away with it an put in something new, Raid Mode. And Raid Mode is AWESOME, I love it, adds even more play value to the game. Basically you pick a 'level' and it's a section of the campaign, where you have to kill all the enemies in it, sometimes with a time limit, and you have different weapons from what you have in your campaign file, and there's a system of upgrades you get and use on your weapons, etc.

So yea, if you have an interest in it, watched some footage, read reviews and such and it sounds good, it's easily worth the buy. I think I paid the full 40 for the 3DS version and it was easily worth that.

I liked it much more than 5 and 6.

Also, if Gamefly sold out, the MS store has it on sale too.

It is a good portable game and is a good experience on 3DS, especially in 3d (it is one of the few games that take advantage of the 3d very well). However, as a console game it is underwhelming.

For a port of a 3ds game I thought it was great and raid mode has a lot of depth

Far better than the recent RE turds we've got

I enjoyed it more than RE:6. The campaign is really great, and feels like a blend of the older titles with RE:4. If you have a friend for co-op, Raid mode is really fun and highly replayable.
