Yes, it's my favorite. the solitary, noir feel of it really works
Yes, it does, and the soundtrack helps that.

Yet, the game is great with a few friends.

My least favorite Halo game, I remember buying it day one and being disappointed. The campaign is short and the city can be a pain to navigate, firefight lacked matchmaking, and instead of having it's own multiplayer it just reused Halo 3s. It felt very underwhelming for full price.

The gameplay was somehow nowhere near as good as the main games, it had less weapons than 3 and the "new" ones sucked. Well the pistol was cool but the SMG blew. All the weapons felt very ineffective and it took twice as many bullets to kill a shielded enemy as it did for MC, which makes no sense considering they are the same exact guns. The melee was practically useless as well and there was no dual wielding whatsoever.

Was there even a single new vehicle in the game? I can't remember any. Such a disappointment. I liked the atmosphere and the story was refreshing but damn was that game just a huge disappointment for major H3 fans. It should have been a 20 dollar expansion and not a standalone game.

The SMG just silenced and power boosted for single wield. The weapons were the same - it's Title is Halo 3: ODST. They did add the pistol. Since the game bridged two stories I was glad that a lot wasn't added as cannon btwn two stories. They did (finally) show an engineer!

The SMG was not the same, it had less bullets in a mag and a slower rate of fire, not to mention it couldn't be dual wielded (although it did have a scope). Spaying bullets into enemies with two subs was awesome and the silenced sub was a letdown compared to it. What was the point of silenced weapons to begin with? Stealth was hardly an option when the enemies knew exactly where you were. The battle rifle didn't even make it into the game! That was a fan favorite and it didn't even get included.

It got a boost in power - it was a compromise btwn the two, hence the scope. The mag size, I forgot, is different. TBH, I never even considered that the BR was absentů strange now that I think of it.

I quite liked it. I liked not just being an invincible tank and being more cautious with my approach/a survivalist. I also liked the semi open world nature of the game as opposed to being a straight up linear experience. Some stuff did bug me like the enemies being hyper aware of your presence and the general lack of vehicles.

Speaking of ODST, this reminds me of a thread I read a long time ago about alternate style Halo games. Someone suggested a survival horror-esque game where you play as a regular grunt and I thought that sounded awesome

I'm still waiting for a spin off where we get to play as covenant and see things from their perspective. Halo 2 had a little of that with the Arbiter but a whole game where we play as spec ops Elites or something would be awesome. I also like your idea of a survival horror Halo game but I doubt that would ever happen unfortunately.

worst halo game in the series for me. halo wars > odst. for a city supposed to be taken over by covenant. i expected ALOT of enemies to be walking around the city and do some stealth moves to get to places. that was not the case.

the lack of duel wielding made no sense whatsoever. i guess you gotta be a spartan to be smart enough to use two smgs or two plasma pistols or a plasma pistol and smg which makes the ODSTs look like bumbling morons. although it would make sense given how they were dumb whenever you saw them in any other halo campaign.

the only saving grace which was quickly replaced by a giant WTF, was when you can only play firefight with people who bought it on your friends list or scour the internet for other owners and friend them. lame city.

should of been a $20 dlc. its the only halo game i ever regret buying full price.

edit: didnt vote. no option for "the game just blows"
