Please tell me I'm not the only person on planet Earth that actually really enjoyed Blitzball?

I enjoyed the mini games in Shenmue I and II. And Red Dead Redemption's games were pretty fun too. I also liked the hacking in Bioshock, if that counts.

Since I really liked it also, I'm saying it counts. :)

I liked hacking in Bioshock, lockpicking in TES and Fallout, all the mini games in RDR except the arm wrestling, and the Gold Saucer in FF7.

Didn't care for the rafting game in the original Mario Party though...tore up my Palm as a kid lol. The one where you had to spin the analog as fast as possible.

I'm not usually a fan of card games, but like others have stated, Triple Triad was the best thing about FFVIII.

I liked the Virtua Tennis minigames back on the Dreamcast.

Another one that comes to mind is one of the Ultimate Alliance games where you'd play Pitfall, as one of the Marvel characters.

Triple Triad from Final Fantasy VIII is awesome, and I'll soon see how it compares to IX's card game, The Witcher 2 brawling is also fun, it is so refreshing to see **** pounded and pummeled around, card game from Digimon World 2003 was also rather fun.

One duller one I remember at this time is Final Fantasy VII's submarine minigame, always put me to sleep for some reason.

You'll be massively disappointed, Tetra Master is awful compared to Triple Triad or anything good for that matter.

As for my preferences, I like minigames that are actually games. Seems devs are content to call anything a minigame these days, even QTEs.

So things like Triple Triad, casino style things and poker are my bag. The Yakuza games have it right for example.

Minigames I don't like are things like lockpicking, hacking, anything that's effectively put in as an obstacle. I like my minigames optional.

I like proper mini games that are a little game within a game as long as they're done well like the pool and arcade machines in gta. QTE and things like lockpicking in games is a game mechanic not a mini game, although again if done properly I have no problem with them.

Now that I think about it, I did enjoy the Qubed arcade game in GTAIV, and the arcade game in Bully where the object was to feed the Sumo and avoid the bad food.

The zombie arcade game in Saint's Row 2 was kinda fun as well, though I didn't make it very far.
