Wouldn't it make more sense to display retail release years for GoD?

As opposed to displaying the year it came to GoD. It just seems like that's an arbitrary year that gives me no information about the game itself. I mean, I guess from a marketing standpoint you don't want to put a game up today and have the year say 2009, but putting 2014 doesn't seem right either...

I agree, the date the game became a GoD is not important compared to the date it was released. It's kind of weird that they still do it that way, but most people probably don't look at the release date anyway.
