According to a survey done by DealGames.com, it turns out Xbox 360 owners aren't interested in purchasing the Xbox One. A Kinect-less Xbox One will hit store shelves June 9, for $399. Only 21% of users said that they're most likely to upgrade or buy the Xbox One after the price cut, but rest of the 79% still aren't interested.
“This could mean one of a few different things: A) Users think $399 is still too much for the Xbox One, especially without the Kinect; B) These players have become happier with their 360; Or C) They don’t really know what they want,” wrote DealNews features editor Benjamin Glaser.
This price cut and unbundling of the Kinect sensor from the Xbox One console was intended to boost the sales figure, enough to give Xbox One the edge in the United States and Canada before the end of 2016, explained Lewis Ward, Research Director, Gaming at IDC last month. This may not look like the case after all, according to this survey.
So what's the deal then, XBROS? Why come you haven't upgraded from your XBOX 360's yet?
I still see no value in the Xbox One. I own a 360 and STILL hesitant on buying an Xbox One.
Reason 1. No good games on the system that I like, more things like Dark Souls. There's the Dark Souls 2 DLC that adds more value to my 360.
Reason 2. I'm quite the completionist, I have a backlog of games.
Reason 3. I really hate the challenge system next to achievements. They all feel like directing you to play a certain way suggestively. I want to play without direction, on my own and not be like a chore.
Reason 4. The PS4 is a more powerful system than the Xbox One.
Reason 5. I'm enjoying Mario Kart 8, and Smash is coming soon....
Reason 6. Not sure if I like Halo anymore, it's been played out... rest of microsoft's ip isn't attractive. I don't like Forza, and most of the games are incomplete microtransactions. pass. --- I hate games with bad game design
Yeah, not surprising, and I have no idea how the amount of people who already got a ps4 isn't exactly the same atm outside day 1 hype.
Right now, unless you absolutely have to have one of the few exclusives out there, or play cross-gen titles at less awful quality, what's the point? Once the last gen systems start dropping support and multiplats and exclusives after only on them, that's when it starts being worth it. --- http://i.imgur.com/uAzPe.jpg http://steamsigmaker.de/bg/thebotqueen.png http://raptr.com/badge/thebotqueen/ach.png
The new Kinect-free Xbox One hasn’t even hit shelves yet, and video game retailer GameStop is already seeing an uptick in interest following the announcement.
“I definitely think we’re already seeing in our stores with our reservation program as well as dialogue with PowerUp Rewards [members that] there’s a stronger demand as a result of the price drop,” said GameStop president Tony Bartel said in recent financial call.
