Well, I take back what I said about building a case being cheaper than buying one at Target, etc.

I just got done building my simple game case which is 3 feet high and 2 feet wide. I picked up the wood at a local Home Depot and had it cut to my specified sizes there. The wood came up to $34. That doesn't include the wood screws I already have on hand. If I had to buy those, I would probably been a few dollars more. The wood was the basic cheapest pine they had.

That was for a 3 foot case! While it was said earlier that someone bought a case twice the height of mine at target for $30 or so. So, I definitely take back what I said about it being cheaper to build it yourself. Today, I was proven completely wrong. :-/

Yeah but yours is probably solid rather than compressed cardboard, targets cabinets are very cheaply made and are not solid at all.

Pine is a very soft wood. It was easy to put the wood screws into it. You could practically start them by hand. My power drill went through it like butter. So, I guess I'll see how it goes as time passes.

I made my stand for my HDTV, my receiver, and my game consoles out of pine and 2x4s. It's held up pretty well so far and it's been close to 2 years now. I would imagine the TV, consoles, and receiver are much heavier than the games. I have a fat PS2 up in the top level right now with a spare slim ps2 on top of it. Seems to be holding up well. Time will tell.

My gaming room smells like a lumber yard right now. ;-)

I would love to take pics of my other collections, But it's not possible in my cramped bedroom. I have a Brand new NES, to $20,000 in sealed Toys collectables to 20+ consoles.

That's why I'm hoping to buy a house next year:)

^^ Nice! Keep those collectables safe! I have a lot of autographed stuff around that I keep pretty much under lock and key. A lot of the autographers have passed on.
