Can US PS3 play Region B blurays? Just bought a movie, waiting for it to ship, am I able to play it or did I waste my money.

No. From what I hear, movies are not region free, only games.

Wasted your money bro.

That said, are you sure the disc itself is definitely region B encoded, and not just from a Region B location? A lot of blu-ray discs are region free.

Movies indeed have a region, A,B and C. Japan and the US are actually both region A.
Some blu-ray movies are coded as region ABC, meaning it'll play in a machine from any of those regions. The little hexagon icon, with a globe and a letter on it, indicates the PS3's region. If you bought a NA or Japanese one, it should be an A.
