Is there a difference between 360 and PS3 Nier?

#1Sonic23004Posted 7/11/2011 8:19:46 PM
All this talk about Nier has convinced me to finally pick it up, but I want to make sure to get the superior version, if any differences exist. Are there any noticeable differences? I'm leaning towards PS3, simply because it's been way too long since I played an RPG on a DualShock, but I'll pick up either version.

Nothing that anyone would notice. I'm sure that at certain points the fps will be a little higher or lower. But the game is fine on both systems with no exclusive content or problems

The real difference I saw between the two versions is that 360 NIER has 2x AA whereas PS3 NIER has no aliasing. And I suppose PS3 NIER has more bloom than 360 NIER. I personally got the PS3 Version because the DS3 feels more appropriate for this game. You'll come to rely on the shoulder buttons alot and the 360 controller feels weird for RPGs in general. Both games don't dip in FPS to the extent I was paying attention. I played NIER on PS3 first, then replayed it on 360 for the achievements.

Hm, I should probably do a PS3 vs. 360 Video sometime.....but first I need a decent capture card as I currently use a simple 480p USB one off Ebay.

Well, that was an easy decision. Went to Wal-Mart for food, found Nier PS3 in the bargain bin. I expected to have to work more to find it. Hopefully it lives up.

Uninteresting storyline?

You play this game before?

...and the visuals aren't decent. They're some of the worst this gen, but that doesn't matter. It's not like it's a blocky mess or anything. Very playable.
