I have a 720p samsung dlp tv.....I think it was made for gaming, it has a game mode display, its sharp and vibrant

I am thinking about selling my tv and upgrading to a 1080p lcd tv

will the graphics be more vivid and crisp on an lcd??? what are the benefits of switching from dlp ---> lcd???

Depends on the size of the DLP. How big is it?

I currently have a 73" 1080p Mitsubishi DLP in the living room, and will never trade that in for an LCD/LED unless they can get one that big.

No man, DLP is actually more crisper than LCD based on how the light technology works. LCD works only as well as the diodes themselves and that's a poor-man's solution to true lighting technology that DLP displays brings. Obviously people don't want to lug the large DLPs as well as pay the repair fees when the bulb in the case goes out, but that's a price to pay for superior images. Usually in order of crisp images it's DLP > Plasma > LCD. Most people don't notice the differences enough to really go the extra mile but when it comes to it, you already have the superior image.

EDIT: As far as colors go, I'd say Plasma's the best. But again, depends on just how accurate you want to get and if you're willing to front the costs/maintenance skills.

The bulb issue is not as bad as people make it out to be. You only need to replace them once every 2 or 3 years. And they only cost around $100 to replace. Well worth it, considering it makes the image like the day you bought it when replaced.

I had a mix up in thinking, that DLP's were those huge tv's. But I do have a LED Backlit LCD i like, but it's small, only 27" i would say this depends a lot more on the size. The 1080p won't matter on games though, as most are in 720p.

I know not of what i speak in the realm of tv's though.

You can get the bulbs cheaper. Just don't go through Samsung.

And also don't pay someone to install it. It's an easy fix.
