Importing Japanese Games

I'm looking to import a Japanese game (Clannad, if you're wondering) and was wondering whether I could get the DLC that's on the Japanese PSN store with my American PSN account, and whether or not I could get trophies on that same account.

Has anyone done this before?

im pretty sure you need a japanese account, but thats easy to make, and trophies do show up on any profile if you play on it

Yes you can get trophies on your American account, if that's the account you will be playing on.

As for the DLC, you will need to create a Japanese PSN account to access their store, and buy PSN cards since that's probably the only viable option for you. As lone as you have that account activated on your system, you will be able to play the DLC regardless of what account you're using.

Thank you very much. I'm pretty sure the DLC is free, just unlocked as you play through the game.

One other question; Has anyone had good luck importing from here:

Because it seems to be one of the few that isn't out of stock.

Play-Asia lists it as in stock and is a decently well known import site, however with a little digging I'm sure Ebay would probably get you a better price.

I need a PC copy, too, so I can translate the dialog (there's an English patch out). I couldn't find one on Play-Asia.

Ah ok, I didn't realize that. I have never heard of the site you used but that doesn't mean anything.

Usually you see people use play-asia, yes-asia, ncsx, and renchi the most. The some people will pay a bit more and just use japanvideogames.com as they are higher priced but based in California and makes things quick and easy but I don't see a PC version on any of those.

You will probably have to use the site you found for the PC version but they seem overpriced on the PS3 version. I would go somewhere else for the PS3 version.
