What JRPGS have character customisation?

#1Rarehunter_idolPosted 8/12/2011 12:23:00 PM
Hey guys. I love JRPGs, but i reckon they'd be even better if more of them featured character creators OR at the very least armor/weapons that actually appear on your characters rather than being invisible under whatever clothing they normally wear. I recently bought Dragon Quest IX for my DS, and while i have not played it yet, it seems to fit the bill with what i'm talking about.

But are there any games on PS3 that feature one or both of those? If not, feel free to list any game as i have a fair few systems.

White Knight Chronicles.

Doesn't the second game come out soon? I think you get the first game for free if you buy WKC2.

Most Tales games do this for weapons. The Tales of the World RM games for PSP allow you to create your own character and completely base your looks upon what stuff you equip.

Also on PSP, the Phantasy Star Portable games similarly have clothing / weapons display. So does Monster Hunter, but it's not really a JRPG.

Resonance of Fate.

you dont cutsomize your character you just change their clothes... teh modifications to your gun also isnt shown on screen and there is no "armor" in teh game just clothes which are only used for cosemetic purposses (no stats or anything)..

however white knight chonicles series (2 in particular) lets you make your own character (you can even make it look like you... well it wont look as realistic but you if you were animated), you can even create and customize your own Knight (basically think of the robots from zenogears or Gunadms), EVER piece of weaons and arkor you wear shows on your character (and theres 400+ different pieces of equipment) and lastly theres online play (6 player co op, and it plays kind alike phantasy star online... but with a final fantaay 12 battle system) theres voice and text chat and online play will keep you busy 500+ hours
