I think that for someone like me who has more western tastes, this gen has a lot more to offer. Also, console online gaming was working properly from the get-go.
Last gen was only particularly good if you like eastern culture. In fact, it only got interesting for me in the last years with SOCOM 3, Hitman: Blood Money and Tales of the Abyss (I know it's eastern but they clearly developed it with the western audience in mind). Also, online took a while before it was smooth, at least on the PS2.
Now I have online wrestling games, WRPGs, shooting games with production values and competent online modes, etc.
So yeah, I enjoy this gen much more and we haven't even heard the swan song yet. --- http://i53.tinypic.com/v9hr8.jpg
For me right now if I count up the games from last generation and this generation that I was interested in or played/enjoyed. I think last and this gen are equal for me.
I get confused when thinking about the HD collections this gen, whether to include them in this gen or last gen. Like for instance I enjoyed the God Of War collection and just started up the Sly Collection which I'm enjoying as well. Both version of these game are significantly improved over last gen's original version, playing at 60 fps and cleaner higher resolution graphics, better sound etc. So should I include these experiences as being last gen experiences, or this gen, when I may not have enjoyed the games as much (even though they're solid games) if I had played them last gen or now on the ps2. --- Time...line...? Golden Maven posted... BlogFAQs? Not really, I'm looking for a discussion. BlogFAQs implies I'm telling some personal story with no room for debate.
Not a fair or accurate comment at all.
Well then, add at the end "What do you all think?" so people understand that it's a discussion. I read it and thought: "Hmm... this would go really well in a blog." Which your first comment follows the blog outline perfectly. Blogs aren't just about telling a personal story, it could also be based on a point of view, informing of a situation or news article, even something so little as a video. --- http://instantboss.org/
I still like eastern better because few games have glitches and bugs, as western type gamers this gen have glitches freezes and bugs at least in my experience, everyone is different. --- Ryoma / Sora / Naruto / Luffy / Ginta Young heroes between the ages of 12-17 make RPG and other video games better then older heroes 18-21 and over.
Thank you! I'm so sick of people saying last gen was godly. I'm currently playing Dragon Age: Ultimate Edition and it's blowing my mind. It's one of the most engaging stories since Tales of the Abyss, and the gameplay is addicting. This gen has some very amazing hits. --- I was into the Playstation Move before it was cool to be - 7/13/2010 Does that sounds logic? It is NOT - TH3_SYN

You understand the distinction, so I have no issue with this post. For people who like western games, this gen is almost certainly better than the previous ones. The easy interportability of PS3, 360, and PC gives western devs a huge audience, so they can afford to create projects of a massive scale that would have been nearly unthinkable last gen. --- http://terosclassicgaming.blogspot.com/ - Watch me beat "NES MC Kids" http://www.backloggery.com/tero - My backloggery
