PS3 Back Up

#1NINDOXPosted 8/27/2011 11:23:28 AM
Last night I backed up my old PS3. It took about 1:40 hours to do it. Today when I restored the back up on a new PS3. It only took 2 minutes or so.

When I backed it up it said the file size was about 60GB.

Anyways on the new PS3, the only things restored were my game saves and music. Game Data Utility and installed games on my PS3 were not restored, Any ideas?

I just noticed my trophies didn't carry over too, even though I synced it.

Restoring back up to a new PS3 does not carry everything over, it's always been like this.

Yes it does.
I have done it twice now and everything from my saved games to all my DLC and game installs have carried over.

It should take allot more than 1hr and 40 minutes to do a complete back up for 140gb's.
I had that much on my PS3 and it took 3 hrs to fully back up everything.

If you back up an old PS3 and restore it to a new PS3 it doesn't transfer everything over. Also I have no idea where you are pulling the 140 GB number from either.

I backed up an 80gb, and it took 1:40 hours. When it was completed it even said it was about 60gb of data on the back up.

I thought he said 140gb's of data. I misread.

But I know for 100% fact that it does with the back up utility.
I have done it when my original PS3 died (seeing as I make a back up every week as a precaution) which was a 60 gb PS3, I went out and bought a new one and this was after RE5 came out and I know that game locks the saves to the hard drive so you can't copy it other than backup utility.
and I restored my back up to the new PS3 and everything was there including my RE5 save file, right where I left off which was Chapter 3.

So don't tell me I am making it up. I HAVE DONE IT.
Calling my BS is like saying the world is flat when you know damn well the world is round.
