A dilemma...

#1ImpeiPosted 8/28/2011 7:27:02 AM
Hello all. I've got an issue I hope you can all help me with...

Now, I have a PS2, with Substance, Subsistence, Persona 4 and FF12. I was thinking about getting a PS3 so I could play this upcoming MGS HD collection, along with Ace Combat: Assault Horizon and Battlefield 3.

My friend wants me to get a 360, however, because of the relatively cheap online play and because the games I want are also being released for the 360. My only beef with the 360 though is the lack of pressure-sensitive buttons, which is a huge part of my Metal Gear gameplay.

So, my question is, which system should I get? Will the 360 controls for MGS be terrible? Do games like Battlefield/Ace Combat play easier/look better on a 360, or PS3?

Thanks~

(I'll be posting this on other boards just so I can get more opinions, don't be surprised if you see this topic somewhere else)

Keep in mind the MGS games were designed with the dualshock controller in mind.

For MGS I'd say PS3, definitely.
If you want to play online with your friends though, probably best off with a 360 since that's what they have (that was the whole reason why I bought my 360 to start with, well that plus Star Ocean 4 was originally 360 exclusive...)

Get a PS3. Not just for MGS, but for other games too.

That would be stupid to buy a PS3 just for an HD remaster of games you own. Relatively cheap online, yeah right. $60 a year is a lot. If you are going to get a PS3 then get one because it's an awesome system. As for upcoming exclusives, well Microsoft has like 1 or 2 games.

1) I guess it would be "stupid" if you weren't a huge MGS2 fanboy, but I actually am. There're also released screens of Raiden with the HF Blade earlier in the game, so it's possible that they could be adding things like that to the original (Not including Substance/Subsistence, since they already are).

2) If you pay 60 bucks a year for online, that's like buying one game a year. That doesn't seem too unreasonable.

I will agree that the PS3 is an awesome system, though. I also like it's home screen interface...decisions, decisions...

EDIT: I was also planning on recording/capturing/whatever my gameplay and uploading it (With the HD Collection)...That'd be sick.

I have a 360 too just so I can play with my friends online, but it still bugs me that I can't just buy MW3 for $60 and play online. I have to go pay $120 just to play it. It might not seem like much, but it adds up. People have paid over $300 just to play online with their 360. Of course, their is only 2 more years before the next round of consoles so...

So you came to the ps3 board to ask if you should buy a 360?
