I prefer to play games the way I grew up playing them, in a room with a group of friends, I'm not a big fan of online gaming and it seems most games are catering to that, so.... any good games that don't rely on online for the bulk of the game?

Games like MGS, or Brink. I enjoyed Homefront but didn't realize how short it was in single player....

Uncharted 2

I suggest you try online play, if you and your friends have mics, its seems to always be a blast.

Agent_Greer doesn't use his mic though. He's no fun. He's all like: "I don't want to use my mic, man! Don't oppress me with your other bad games you play." <-- True story

^ I only say I don't like it because it's easier than explaining why it's hard to accomplish online gameplay. My doctors have a rule apparently that is designed to suck all the fun out of everything I try to do....

Disgaea 3 and Disgaea 4 has and will offer endless enjoyment if you're into that kind of thing.

You can always try to play any game that has some sort of repeating grind that you are into. I downloaded the demo to Bladestorm: The Hundred Year's War on PSN and I ended up buying the game new from Amazon for like less than 30 dollars. Its the BEST TECMO KOEI GAME EVER. I suggest you try it.

Dragon Age: Origins is also an awesome RPG and its not that frustrating. It offers lots of laughs and the characters are ridiculously charming.

You are looking for RPGs sir. That's what you should check out.
