I have a PS3 with YLOD. I want to do everything myself because I'm using it as experience for my job.

Honestly, the best fix to the YLOD is buying a new PS3.

I used Gilksy's, and it worked fine, plus I just like his accent. The youtube video has a few key steps that the pdf skips, so I'd recommend that.
