I see some sites listing it as a 120hz display while gamestop list it as a 240hz.

Response time 4ms, which is 250Hz.

Response time has nothing to do with refresh rate.

Wait, scratch that. The response time is apparently something else. I suppose maybe you have to divide it by two, because the response time seems to be the time it takes a pixel to go from one value to another, and back again.

so nobody really knows at this point? I'm interested in the display, and if its 240hz i don't think anything can beat that, but if its 120hz maybe i can find a monitor thats just as good or better.

Yeah it has a pretty cool feature where 2 players playing Resistance 3 at the same time (on the same console obviously) will see different displayed images with the 3D glasses. So, for that feature alone I’d think you would need 240 Hz

120Hz would also work just fine, each user would get 60Hz which is probably what the game runs at anyways.

Each player sees 2 separate images combined to make 3D so if R3 runs at 30fps then yes you’re right 30fps * 2 rendered frames * 2 players = 120 Hz would work. Still, it’s nice to have the extra cushion. Makes you wonder how good it must look, the PS3 pushing out that many fps. Probably not very good.

The hz will be determined by the tv, not the ps3.
