Is Metal Gear Solid 4 Worth The Buy?

I played MGS 1 and the one on PSP. While I liked MGS, it wasn't always a must-play game for me.

Today when I went to Gamestop I thought about picking it up, but just didn't muster enough motivation to do it. I read the reviews and people said the game is crazy good. Is it true?

The story hinges heavily on previous titles. if you couldn't really get into MGS1, you probably won't like MGS4.
I'm pretty sure that Hideo confirmed that you don't argue MGS semantics with Onslaught. - Serazee -

Yes it is a fantastic game and is probably cheap if you buy it used. You can also return it to Gamestop within 7 days if you regret your purchase.

To been honest it was good when it came out but after playing a lot of better games it simply doesn't hold up and you will see that in its gameplay.get it if you really want but be warned you probably wont play it more than twice if even that. Id really suggest you wait for the hd mgs collection and if you like that, then get 4

If you can put up with A LOT of cutscenes and pauses to gameplay, yes. Between the end of Act 2 and the beginning of Act 3 you watch about (guess) 30 mins of cutscenes until you get gameplay.

the fact that it's easily attainable for 10 bucks makes it instantly worth it. But you've only played MGS1 and it would be much better if you played 2 and 3, and lucky for you 2 and 3 are coming in an HD collection being released this year. I'd recomend just getting that first and then after you blow through that getting 4.

As long as you aren't diving in without prior knowledge of the series.
What are YOU playing?
