Replacing my PS3 Slim's hard drive, will this one work?

#1kaythanksbye2Posted 9/14/2011 5:44:19 AM
Just a quick question, my PS3 slim's HD is completely full, and I don't want to delete any of my games on it, so I am looking into replacing it with a bigger one. Before I make my purchase though, I just wanted to check with some people who are knowledgeable about the subject and find out if this drive will work, or if someone can suggest one that will (I want a 500 gig one ideally)

Any responses would be greatly appreciated!

I think I answered at least my first question already. This link here shows that someone already tried this model, and it didn't fit.

Any other suggestions?

I think I found a winner, http://www.amazon.com/Western-Digital-Scorpio-Notebook-WD5000BPVT/dp/B0037NYQ6Q/ref=dp_ob_title_ce

but would still appreciate if anyone has had any luck with any other ones

There's absolutely no reason the first one wouldn't fit either. The key is they have to the standard 9.5mm thick, which both of those ones are. Some of the larger ones, such as the current 1tb drives, are 12mm thick, and they simply will not fit in the ps3's hard drive slot.
