SoliquidusPosted 9/14/2011 2:11:55 PM | Well it depends. Do you like cars with wheels on them? --- PS3 without Immersion lacks Rumble and PS3 without Rumble lacks Immersion. Finally Sony did the right thing |
nihilist212 (Topic Creator) Posted 9/14/2011 2:14:32 PM | a fair question indeed. i do in fact like my personal car to have at least 2 wheels on it. i mean i know they're pretty much completely different games and all, just looking for a general consensus on which is more fun to play repeatedly. --- psn: jcvdismyhero |
Mud_ChanPosted 9/14/2011 2:24:51 PM | I like WipEout better myself. It's damn fast and you'll have plenty of fun with time trials, speed laps, and zone mode. On top of that, even though they are both combat racers, WipEout includes a lot more racing elements. You'll need to learn the courses and come up with some good racing lines to perform well. It's not quite as racing heavy as the previous wipEout titles, but soon 2048 will be out, which will hopefully fix that problem. . --- Demon's Souls/Dark Souls Stat and Weapon Calcs http://sites.google.com/site/darksoulstats/ |
SoliquidusPosted 9/14/2011 2:30:30 PM | They both have their Strong Points.
Both Games place a great emphasis on Speed. Paradise however, feels faster. It isn't just due to the fact that it isn't futuristic, but it genuinely feels faster.
Plus, in Paradise there is a greater emphasis on driving safer as well. What I mean by this is that with every collision you make with your car in the game, it greatly slows you down. Especially if you crash head on into something. You will slow down in Wipeout as well, but it doesn't slow you down like in Paradise. You still need to drive like a maniac in Paradise to be good at it. Drive in the oncoming lane, pull off close calls, and drift to build boost. However, you must do these things without any collisions to be truly good at Paradise. Or any Burnout Game. Collisions in Wipeout dont cost you as much
Overall I think Paradise is more fun. But I have always been a Burnout fan. Burnout: Takedown is my 2nd fave racer of all time and I absolutely adored Burnout: Revenge. Also really enjoyed the first 2. I dont own Paradise or Wipeout HD, but have played them to the point that I have a decent idea of what they offer. I never bought Paradise due to its open ended nature. It just wasn't to my tastes. Especially seeing that previous Burnouts weren't like that. Still, there is definitely some fun to be had in Paradise
If you want a Challenge, then getting a Plat in Wipeout HD is the way to go. It is widely considered to be one of the Absolute Hardest Games to Plat
You should hear some other opinions before going through with a purchase tho --- PS3 without Immersion lacks Rumble and PS3 without Rumble lacks Immersion. Finally Sony did the right thing |
hi_polymerPosted 9/14/2011 2:59:07 PM | Wipeout HD is the more unique game. You've probably played Burnout Paradise in one way or another, as most racers follow that sort of "style'. And crashing in it gets old very fast. --- http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/hi_polymer/samrog.jpg |
InfernoSDPosted 9/14/2011 3:18:49 PM | Burnout Paradise is a fun driving game, but it's not challenging and it's not much of a racer. --- || ||\ || ||"" ||"" ||"") ||\ || /''''\ || || \|| ||"" ||¦¦, ||""\ || \|| \,,,/ |

SuperPlatanoPosted 9/14/2011 4:44:34 PM | idk i never liked Wipeout HD, its probably because i suck but it never really felt so fast, I stopped playing after a few racers. However, Burnout seems like a who lot of fun. I was apprehensive about it because of a lack of a true "Crash'' mode but i got over it. Its really fun to play. --- Every Villain Is Lemons. |
Teepo64Posted 9/14/2011 4:50:19 PM | WipEouT is a better racer than Burnout Paradise.
Though, I believe MotorStorm: Apocalypse is the best PS3 arcade racer no doubt. --- Attacking the GameFaqs realm since 2008 because I don't like the idea of Agent_Greer defending it from imaginary invaders. I'm hip like that. |
