Umm no. The story can be described in 3 sentences.
Here's a story written by Ernest Hemingway. It's only 6 words but it's still a good story.
"For Sale: baby shoes, never worn."
A story doesn't have to be intricate or long like MGS to be good. The same thing applies to game mechanics really. Keeping things simple and still providing depth is just as good if not better.
