Battlefield 3 developer: war with Call of Duty is getting "tiring"

EA and Activision have engaged in some serious mudslinging over the past few months, trying to hype up their upcoming games, Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3 — two of the most anticipated titles of the year.

Now DICE’s Patrick Liu revealed in a new interview that the developer doesn’t have much for the war between EA and Activision. Lui said to StrategyInformer that “it does get tiring at some point. The only thing we can do to handle it is to focus on our own game, focus on making the best game we possibly can.”

The “war of words” between EA and Activision started back in April with EA CEO John Riccitiello saying that Battlefield 3 is “designed to take down Modern Warfare 3%u2033. Since then, Activision has fired back, with its CEO, Bobby Kotock, criticizing Battlefield 3%u2032s console performance. (Read more in Link)

I didn't know a couple tweets and gearing a game towards PS3 and the other towards 360 was tiring.
I don't just give you my two cents, I whip a roll of quarters at your head.

It is. I can't believe some people still argue over which game of "x" genre is better. It's a waste of time.
Every day I see my dream.

Competition is healthy. And Dice should be proud that they have done as good a job as they have in competing with Call of Duty. They didn't let Battlefield slide under the radar the way EA let Medal of Honor. Call of Duty is a force to be reckoned with this gen, if not for Battlefield the genre would be getting pretty dry.
Never say can't.

I cant help but wonder if the massive failure of the BF3 beta had something to do with this new found exhaustion.

Of course it's tiring when you know there's now way to win.
Are you killin' it?

I don't blame them for backing down after that mess of a beta.

I was just kinda down that bf3 felt like a cod clone :(

Seems like its just a typical fps with no vehicles (which was what bf2 was all about) and bullets instant killing all the time. I almost wanna know what purpose hardcore mode will have for the game. I also question why they have death cams like they do. Did anyone actually like them?

I dunno... BF3 is just BC3 if you ask me.
