Can anybody tell why that is? This has happen before and then all of sudden it starting reading them again. I have an old 80 gig if that means anything.

edit: forgot to put usb memory sticks in the title.

Of the ps3? Would a vacuum be safe?

My PS3 won't read any memory sticks either. Of course, it doesn't have a memory stick port, so it's pretty understandable. I supposed if I hooked my card reader up to the usb it might read them, but I don't really have any reason to do this anyway.

So in conclusion, I don't know.

Well i tried cleaning the ports with a felt cloth and its still not working. I don't understand how it just stops working like this for no reason.

There's a reason, you just don't know what it is. Could be anything from bad soldering, to a static shock, to cosmic rays.
