Lost Odyssey was really, really good with it, despite the studio obviously having some issues since it was their first time using such an engine.
That said, the yearly thing isn't surprising. So they want to release more console games. Big deal. They've been churning out portable titles like crazy this past decade. All they're doing is changing it up for consoles. All they need to do is a good job with it. The release schedule of games is nothing shocking. It probably takes a lot for studios to be solvent in this economy. They can't just sit and release one big game every few years.
Then again, Square Enix has been releasing a ton of games each year anyway. Why is this shocking anyone?
