GameStop 50% Trade In Bonus

#1barrnonePosted 3/23/2012 5:32:01 AM
I know people love to bash GameStop around here, but for those who shop there, they're running the 50% trade-in bonus from today (3/23) through 4/1. I always wait for these offers to do any trading as you can get pretty reasonable value, especially on more recent games. If you're a PowerUp rewards member, you still get the extra 10% so you get 60% on top of standard trade value.

I usually wait for these deals as well, BUT, I also know full well that Gamestop has a history of dramatically lowering what they give for trade before such deals, so in the end you don't end up getting that much more than you might have anyway.

When they have this deal, you do as well as anywhere else, maybe a little better. And it's less of a hassle than having to go through the mail for something like Amazon. Plus I personally shop at GameStop at times (for both myself and my son), so getting store credit there is a good thing. Even if I don't want something now, I'll do my trade-ins and hang onto the credit until there's a game I want.

And I'm sure trade in values dropped by 40% overnight...

Boycott Gamestop. Bad for gamers, bad for the industry.
