this for me as well, FFIV and FFVI seem to get the most love of the snes FF games, but FF5 is my favorite, i always liked the freedom of the class system in that one, same reason i liked tactics so much

FF1-6 are, IMO, rated about where they deserve to be. FF1 mediocre, FF2 sucks, FF3 barely better than FF1, FF4-6 good to better depending upon which one being spoken of.
FF7 (and FF10) are highly overrated. FF7 is not great, but not bad either - it is mediocre. FF10 is one of the worst FF's in the franchise.
FF8 ... not sure how people rate this one. It is tied with FF2 for worst FF, though.
FF9, 12 is rated appropriately.

I'd say that FF13 is the most underrated one. It is a better game than the other FF's that have appeared on Sony's systems, yet it seems to me to get a rap of being one of the worst FF's ever made.

I don't see it being mentioned too but the sheer amount of ports/re-releases it had makes me cringe... Japan seems to love FFIV a whole lot.
