Just got this message when i tried to turn on my ps3 slim today
"Cannot start the appropriate system storage was not found"
It seems to me that my hdd may have died. It will not boot the recovery menu (i triple checked i'm doing it correctly). Has anyone solved this issue i'm actually more concerned with the save data then the console. The hdd is a seagate 7200.3 320GB.

i've heard that the 7200 rpm HD 2.5" can cause problem in the long run? can you try rebuilding database? or go into recovery mode and reflash your firmware? but i think that HD is the main culprit.
