There was a suikoden game released in japan in february. Also, not announcing a new game in a series is different to cancelling one in development.

1) It isn't cancelled. It never had any indication of cancelation.
A shameless rumour aiming at naive people, by a shameless website, reported it from its Butt Studio.

2) Suikoden series = series
Final Fantasy Versus XIII = Installment in a series.
Lologic.

Plus, EVEN if the "logic" you present here had even a tiny fragment of "from-this-world" feeling:

lol at people not understanding that Final Fantasy X HD was announcemed in VITA Press Conference, and VITA has had lackluster sale figures so far.
Final Fantasy X HD is intended to sell in the millions, not thousands, so please.
