I just looked at the breakdown that i fix it did on their site. They said the system's fans are smaller in this model. wouldn't that make the system run hotter and break faster?

The difference in power consumption is negligible. Something like 5 watts.

So then is this a bad move on sony's part? Will this make the system weaker? Im just worried as i have the assassins creed bundle pre ordered.

i dont think the size of the fan affects how the ps3 handles overheat
imo anyway

The fan might be smaller but the heat sink and/or air flow could be more efficient. We won't know until someone tests them.
