or so I hear around here anyway. If this is true, why didn't IGN give Medal Of Honour a good score? You would think EA would have plenty of money to bribe them since they are a large company and MOH is their entry into the lucrative FPS market.

Is it because EA didn't offer them enough money? Or is it because it is complete fiction that IGN gets bribed into giving a good score and it's just an excuse for hardcore gamers to give when popular games get high scores. Has bribing gotten too expensive for even EA?

Nobody outright bribes anyone, it's threats of no more games ahead of time to review, no perks like invites to journalism parties or launch parties, stuff like this.

However, I think they knew Warfighter was a POS regardless and didn't even bother trying to "bribe" anyone.

this is what you are referring to. It's not about IGN but the writer does point out many game journalists participate in shilling for game companies. IGN is one of the bigger sites so I have no doubt some of their employees shill now and again, but giving MOH a 4 has more to do with terrible reviewing ethic and the desire for readership and page hits, cause there is no way that game deserves a 4.

There's been a mini-storm around that article over the last day. The original version named a couple of the journalists who had participated in a competition by advertising a product, there was talk of libel, the article was edited, the writer resigned...

1. video game reviewers are not journalists

2. align yourself with reviewers of similar tastes

3. rarely be disappointed

they give their personal opinions on what they see and play. agree or don't. just stop trash talking them.
