Are you talking about real lesbians, or lesbians guys talk about in general which are actually pornstars that will do anything for money while commonly not actually living a lesbian lifestyle?

Haven't lesbians *always* been more acceptable in pretty much every society than gay males?

Guys consider lesbians to be "hot." Their sexuality and personal identity is unimportant - the only thing that matters is that they're a sexual novelty to men. Whereas gay males are a "threat." Because surely there's nothing a gay male could want more than the bigoted, repressed jerkbag who's constantly undermining them as a citizen and human being. Who wouldn't be attracted to that?

Also, notice how lesbians get treated when they're not "hot" or "lipstick lesbians." Suddenly it's "gross" and "wrong" again - because what purpose could they have if not for you to watch them making out?

Homophobia is the fear that a guy will treat you the way you treat women.

Given how many of my fellow male gamers seem to be total chauvinists I'd have to go with "yes."

Unless you call Mega Man "Rockman" kindly quit whining about those of us who still say "Robotnik." Thank you.

Seems pretty obvious which one is more advantageous to a straight dude. Gay guys don't steal our womens. Lesbians have no interest in being our womens.

No but it really doesn't have a place in a video game discussion along with politics and religion. Most of the time it is used to incite people. With that said, I agree with your point 100%.

k but gay ppl exist and shouldn't be a taboo subject, so ppl who don't like it should just get over it. personally i don't care if i make any homophobes mad. you'll never see ppl say like, "discussion of heterosexually should be b&" or something

Heterosexually shouldn't have a place in video game discussion either. Why the hell should I care if a character is gay or not? All I'm saying is that sexuality, politics, religion, and race don't really have much to do with discussion for video games. There is a seperate board for that. I don't see it as a taboo subject if it's on the right board like discussing Obama/Romney on the politics board. But can you tell me what possible reason should the ps3 board have to discuss anything other than gaming? Most of the time TC is usually trolling and trying to start a flame war when it comes to those kinds of subjects. If we discuss them here then those other boards serve no purpose.

there are topics that relate to both gaming and homosexuality, such as... the one the TC made. everyone knows gaming communities are generally male dominated and have a homophobia problem. it's worth discussing.

If it ties into gaming then I suppose it's alright. But it really shouldn't be a problem in the first place. I'll admit I was generalizing when I said they those subjects don't have anything to do with gaming. But the problem is that 99% of the time the discussion about gaming is overshadowed by the subject itself. Look at the responses in the topic for evidence of this. It would be far easier to discuss homosexuality/heterosexuality or religion on a different board instead of one more oriented towards gaming. I get what your saying though and I'll agree to an extent.
