Ni no Kuni has weak battle system. It's apparently much like FF12's. If Xillia is like their predecessors, the battle system will be fun regardless.

More like FFXII on Wait Mode, but only vaguely.
And I liked the XII ADB.

Anyways, I guess the moving around during battle, and being able to swap members on the fly, and the game pausing when selecting commands or using abilities. (only for XII on Wait)

Aside from that, XII doesn't have a cooldown for abilities or swapping to a familiar.

I don't see how anyone can say the system is weak.

The only thing legitimately weak is the people against it. Most likely, they can't handle managing so many things at once. The NNK battle system isn't mashable. You have to play it smart and play it careful.

FFXII is practically an MMO generated system. if an attack is started, it will hit regardless of position unless it rings up the randomized Miss based on accuracy and evasion stats

Oh, and the fact Defend/Guard is highly useful and you will want to use before an enemies big attack, and that you can actually run out of range of certain attacks.

I like how it's a hybrid turn based/action system as well.
More things to manage, and it'll always keep you on your toes.

I didn't bring anything regarding that up until the post after yours.
Still has similarities, but I prefer NNK's system.

FFXII creators did say they wanted FFXII to have the feel of MMO because they loved FFXI so much. but really... xenoblade 1upped FFXII by being true to attack positioning.
