Exactly, I was looking at pornography in the local library when I stumbled upon this post.

You realize that some people have laptops that they take over to other people's houses or even workplace where they can post here? Hell, they could even have computers at work and post on here. Don't be ignorant.

Wow. Don't take a joke why don't you?

Sorry. I guess I forgot to laugh... The joke was that funny I guess.

Why does everyone have to think a joke has to induce laughter for it to be a joke? That's all I ever see from this website anymore.

Publisher: Cut two characters out of the game and then bill them as free DLC. The peasants will think they've got something shiny

Devs: Okay... :(

What in the hell are you even talking about? Stop posting, please.

DmC looks like a good game. I also enjoyed the latest Final Fantasy and Resident Evil games. I like video games.

If they did that, they hid the characters very well, because there's no sign of them in the beta code for any of the many builds that were released.

And it also seems like a lot of work for two characters that are going to be free anyway.

Thats great news!!! Im guessing they're free because they're sony exclusive? I wouldnt be surprised if crash and spyro and a square enix character would cost money but hey now we have 22 characters to look forward to!

I thought his posts were good joke replies.

Usually people take offense when you say something about race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or politics.

He took offense about not having internet.

I finally won a mod dispute. Too bad it got overturned a day after my suspension ended.

I dunno why people would expect Snake. First of all, there's only one character per series for everyone except Infamous, and that's clearly something they had to budge on for Naughty Dog's sake.

And second, we already have a ton of characters who fight using a combination of firearms and exposives (Nathan Drake, Sweet Tooth, Jak, Ratchet, Radec). Raiden was a much better choice for Metal Gear because his fighting style is more unique among the characters in this game.

No what I mean is that they've planned for a very very long time to make these characters AFTER the game has gone gold. It's not like they've been sitting around for two days since the game has gone gold and have gone "I KNOW! LET'S DO SOMETHING TO APPRECIATE OUR FANS!" It's not like that at all. It's more like...

Publisher: "How can we use DLC to boost our sales without seeming like scumbags?"
Seth Killian aka the PR guy:"Oh I know, I used to work at Capcom so I felt like a scumbag all the time. Well you see, let's hold off on two characters until the game goes gold. We'll bill it as free DLC for a limited time. If we do that we'll 1) release the game in time for Christimas 2) make sure people buy the game within 3 months of launch 3) make extra profit on those who don't snag the characters in two weeks 4) Will seem like we're doing the fans a favor"
Publisher; GENIUS!

It's a $$$ ploy for sure, but I will admit that it's less scummy than the usual tactics. It really works out in your favor that they planned to do this if you plan to buy the game early, if not then you're going to be paying premium prices.

The reason neither of these 2 are On Disc is because by the time the game was getting deep into development is because both Starhawk and Gravity Rush were recent releases in 2012 so if your in Superbot's shoes, you don't want to take a chance by putting 2 characters from games that might've bombed or that people won't give a damn about.

Its perfectly understandable and again this does not mean that they are not available if you buy the game weeks after it comes out.....its just that they won't be free(Who knows the price, hopefully not too much). Its a way to reward the early buyers more than anything.

I am very happy.

Oh, probably, but as long as they weren't just sitting there doing nothing in the days leading up to release (And we know that they weren't, they were actively changing things during the last days of the beta and it went gold right after that), I don't really see the issue. This allows them to get the game out faster and still make these extra characters.

That's actually a pretty reasonable way to use Free DLC. I don't know if anyone here played Wipeout Pure, but the game shipped with only like one third of its total content and the promise that more was coming. It allowed them to make the PSP launch and you still got a very good package without paying any more when they completed it all.

It's a way to get more game for less budget (since this way, they still get to release early and don't need to hire the extra staff that would be required to get the characters done for the original release date). That's good for both consumers and producers.
