I'm sure they meant on a technical level, and in relation to Pong.

Good read, but I'd have liked to hear his opinions on modern gaming and how it's developed, as well as just his life story.

On a technical level, they aren't anything special as well.

true in that sense, all that physics and collision detection madness..... then the AI

then again, to my knowledge of today's games, the easiest to make yet hardest to test are the action games...

the easiest to test but hardest to make are rpgs...

They really weren't making a comment about which game is the most sophisticated ever made. It's not a gaming website, if you hadn't noticed. They just used it as a popular example that non-gamers would likely have heard of. Hell, my 65 year old father knows what Halo & Call of Duty are, and I've never owned any of them.

And I'd say RTS games are some of the most sophisticated to programme. The next Rome: Total War has over 3 million lines of code, for example.

Hah I played the hell out of my Simon machine in the early 80s. Also had a Magnavox Odyssey. Of course played pong on a handful of different machines. Never knew it was the same guy behind all of it.

Good link TC.
