Hey guys, just wondering, what's PS+ all about? Is it worth it? And also for the more generous people, any spare PS+ codes? I'm a cheap guy, and don't want to fork out 18 bucks if i don't end up liking it ^_^

It's not worth it...Use that extra 5 dollars to buy a good game like Monster World 4.

In a long run I think it's well worth it. The free games that get added all the time might not be the greatest and I I wouldn't buy them, but when it's free I sure as hell wouldn't mind trying out.
But I think it also depends on what type of gamer you are. If you only play here and there once a month then it might not be a good investment,

How often do the games get updated, how many of them are there, and what on right now? Thanks in advance.

I finally won a mod dispute. Too bad it got overturned a day after my suspension ended.

it is only worth it if you play a lot of psn games. If you just play the ps3 for the disk based games, like most users, then it is not worth it at all. Only the ps exclusives get good deals, and even then its not worth the monthly costs.

Ok so I'm getting mixed responses. It's good, but not that good? Is it as good as XBL gold?

If you're a cheap guy and value your money, you should be able to realize that paying $50 a year for the "subscription" is WELL WORTH the cost for what you actually get out of it. Besides the "free" games, you also get discounts to go towards purchases you might want to make anyway.

I've had PS+ since the big June 2012 update when they introduced the Instant Game Collection. Here is everything I've downloaded for "free" or for the $50 I spent so far (which doesn't count any money saved from buying things with discounts):

June 2012

Altered Beast (PSN) = $5
Awesomenauts (PSN) = $10
Battle Fantasia (PSN) = $20
Castlevania Chronicles (PS1) = $6
Castlevania SOTN (PS1) = $10
Comix Zone (PSN) = $5
Farm Frenzy 2 (Mini) = $5
Fatal Inertia EX (PSN) = $30
Floating Cloud God Saves The Pilgrims (Mini) = $3
Golden Axe (PSN) = $5
Hamsterball (PSN) = $10
Inferno Pool (PSN) = $3
LBP Sackboy's Prehistoric Moves (PSN) = $6
Mahjong Tales: Ancient Wisdom + Add-on (PSN) = $10+$5
Orbit (Mini) = $3.50
Rock of Ages (PSN) = $10
Sonic 1 (PSN) = $5
Sonic 2 (PSN) = $5
Streets of Rage 2 (PSN) = $5
Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battlecars (PSN) = $10
Trine 2 (PSN) = $15
Velocity (Mini) = $5

Total = $191.50

----------
Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown = $15
inFAMOUS 2 = $40
Little Big Planet 2 = $40
Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One = $60
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine = $40
Just Cause 2 = $20
Saints Row 2 = $20
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light = $15
Hard Corps: Uprising = $15
Choplifter HD = $10
Zombie Apocalypse Never Die Alone = $10
Sideway NY = $10

Total = $295

Grand Total = $486.50

------
Pac-Man Championship Edition DX = $10
Reneage Ops = $10.50
Gotham City Impostors = $15

Total = $35.50

-----
International Track & Field = $6
Hot Shots Golf 2 = $6

Grand Total = $534

-----

BloodRayne: Betrayal = $10
Outland = $10
Scott Pilgrim vs The World = $10
Double Dragon Neon = $10
****Borderlands = $20***** already owned the GOTY edition

total = $60

-------
KOF13 = $30
NFL Blitz = $15
Total = $45
-----

PayDay The Heist = $20

----

Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition = $30

-----
Quantum Conundrum = $15
-----

Grand Total = $704
---------

That's still with 8 months left to go for the rest of my "year" of PS+. So whether or not you think any of that is worth $50, I guess that's entirely up to you.
