I'm sure this question will be taken the wrong way, but why is PSASBR worth $60?

I'll note in advance that I haven't played the game, or really checked the reviews, but as it's generally accepted that Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale is more or less a Super Smash Bros. clone, I put together a quick infographic. It's... not really flattering for Sony's game, as it seems to be outclassed by Super Smash Bros. Melee in pretty much every respect as far as content goes (gameplay and graphics would've been very subjective points and not factual). If any of the info below is wrong, please correct me.

Note 1: I didn't include the DLC characters for PSASBR; Shiek/Zelda are counted as a single character.
Note 2: I didn't include the N64 stages for Melee, which would've raised its total to 29.
Note 3: Item containers and food (minus the Maxim Tomato) were not counted for Melee; I counted AP as an item for PSASBR.

Anyways, I'm genuinely curious as to what would make this game worth my $60, as it seems to be a $30-40 game as far as content is concerned. The inclusion of the Vita version doesn't really count as the majority of people buying this game likely don't own a Vita yet. Is there a PS+ trial available for me to try? Any thoughts or opinions (minus blatant flaming or junk posts) are welcomed and encouraged.

I wouldn't pay $60 simply because if you wait for a little while, odds are you'll see a Complete Edition released with all the DLC and Expansion content, and it'll cost $40.

Frankly, anything with DLC isn't worth $60. Maybe $10 or $20 depending on how much they want to charge you for the DLC content.

Math problems are the ultimate trick question. No matter how straight forward and simple they seem, the answer is never what you think it is.

That is like saying a new car should sell far below MSRP unless it includes every optional add-on in the base price. Extra things are extra.

Except that car manufacturers don't typically take Standard Features and make them Premium Features. Which is pretty much exactly what they're doing with DLC.

Unless the beta was significantly different from the actual game, I don't think it is.

Disc-locked content is actually the exception not the rule. If you are talking about other content, base games these days come with more content than ever before. How someone can feel they are owed ADDITIONAL content for free is beyond me. It is content that is only essential if you choose to buy it.
