Scroll down to "Freshh23" second post, he/she posts "If this game isnít overpriced at $20 and doesnít have any greedy, rip-the-consumer-off, anti-consumer practices, you have my purchase!" which Sony replies, "there's no online pass."

Proof, now there's no questions, ifs or buts about it. Now stop getting taken advantaged of and stop being a dumb, blind consumer.

I see the online pass as worthless. Most online communities after the first 8 months whither into decay and only the most ruthless players remain in an endless deathmatch.

If I buy used a game that needs an online pass then I just refuse to play the game online ever. They are only hurting their own online community overall by adding a pass system.

Except it still seems they are withholding content for use as bargaining chips to get people to buy the PS3 version new, if I understand it right, which seems just as wrong to me. They need to offer stuff outside of the game like Good Old Games does.

I buy the games I want new so online pass doesn't matter to me either.

It is your problem because sometimes there's problems with online pass, one example, entering them and getting to use the part of the game that requires an online pass. Also, all the negatives that are in video games right now, some examples, online pass, disc locked DLC, overpricing DLC, removing content on purpose just to release as DLC and charge for it, are still here because enough consumers still purchase products with those practices and don't do anything about it.

Online pass isn't the only greedy or anti-consumer practice that is currently done in video games, so your post is invalid and untrue.

This.

It's sad that even with proof from the own companies, some gamers still choose to be dumb and blind consumers and let companies rip them off. Such a shame.

You don't need a long winded article. As a consumer, the gaming industry is this simple. Buy what you want. Don't buy what you don't want.

Supposedly, they were going to charge for those skins they are now giving for free which is ridiculous because skins should always be free, skins shouldn't be charged, they're just simple skins, doesn't cost enough to justify charging for them.

Are the skins what you were talking about?

It's like that for everything. It doesn't change the fact the certain practices are greedy, ripping-the-consumer-off and anti-consumer, for example, online pass and the whole enormous DLC fiasco and if we, consumers, gamers keep purchasing products with those practices and never do anything about it, they will never go away, they will only get worse and more and more of those type of practices will come to life.

So we only want people to make choices for themselves as long as they agree with the crusaders who feel the video game industry will crumble tomorrow if we don't protest online passes and DLC until they disappear. The cause is noble I suppose, but the history of the world has proven that protests and boycotts don't work outside of certain issues.
