You said that you were concerned about spider "germs" on your PS3, but spiders have far fewer germs than flies. What I mean to say is that flies carry (and spread) far more germs than spiders do. They are also noisier and are more likely to come into contact with a human than a spider.
When a spider interacts with a human (if, say, you were to prod at it on the web), it would flee. It's more afraid of you than you should be of it. Spiders are not hunters. They sit back and wait for prey to arrive. When threatened by something more dangerous than them (like a human), they usually run away.
They are pretty clean (for an insect), they get rid of pests, and they are -quiet-. All insects look scary, if you look at them close up. I think you should see this video of a butterfly.
