How come the morons at the Spike VGA don't wait until the end of the year?

I think it's unfair for the games that are released past November since that's when Spike determines their nominees.

So that means that no matter how good a game is it won't be in the running for game of the year if it's released in December.

Yeah, sorry Far Cry 3!

I bet the show is going to suck and have a bunch of trendy hip hop/rap garbage in it.

You do realize the VGA's are just another corporate gang bang and the award itself really has no value or merit?

I consider these guys to be the official GOTY award givers, even then don't really care much for em.

They do have solid choices, even when I don't agree with them I can see that a quality title was chosen.

1997 - Goldeneye 007
1998 - Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time
1999 - SoulCalibur
2000 - Diablo II
2001 - Halo CE
2002 - Battlefield 1942
2003 - Call Of Duty
2004 - Half-Life 2
2005 - God Of War
2006 - Gears Of War
2007 - Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
2008 - LittleBigPlanet
2009 - Uncharted 2
2010 - Mass Effect 2
2011 - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Hmm, the golden age of the past generation, but they only chose shooters for 4 years straight. I don't really care about awards, but that's interesting.

Indeed, but there's no denying that each of those games was either very innovative in some way or just plain excellent. And interestingly enough, the PS3/360 gen, which is flooded with FPS games, only had 1 year where the game given GOTY was a FPS.

Anyways, here's the link that has all the awards they've given out in various categories for those who are interested:

Why? Halo 4 is not in the running for the biggest award, so obviously that equation doesn't work for the Spike VGAs.

I never said it was. The quickest way for results from Keighley is through his wallet.
