I was reading this month's Famitsu and thought to myself it'd be interesting to see some of your reactions to this from an outsider's perspective. I scanned it up and did a quick photoshop job to swap out the names of the games for their English equivalents so it'd be easier for you to read. Here's the image:
Of particular interest to me is the fact that The Last Guardian is about to fall off the charts and that Lightning Returns is still behind Versus XIII despite Versus having a lot less media coverage recently. It's also interesting to see that Shin Megami Tensei has become more popular than Final Fantasy as of late. Sad state of affairs for Square-Enix.
EDIT: It's worth noting that the titles in pink are titles scheduled to be released within the next three months.
Nice to see Metal Gear Rising in top 5, this game is going to be mindblowing. Not surprised to see mostly 3DS titles, its a monster in Japan which outsells more systems than every other system combined.
The Last Remnant isn't out there yet?
What is faith then but persistent hope in the face of relentless doubt. Now Playing: Black Ops 2, Zone of the Enders HD Collection, Hell Yeah!, Final Fantasy 9
Not gonna lie... That's a pretty lackluster list. I probably don't agree with Japan.
Well, you also have to understand that most Japanese gamers have the same bias against western games as most western gamers have against Japanese games. Honestly, I'd say the Japanese are even more closed-minded. They used to have a saying that was basically, "Foreign games are crap games."
Not laughing cause it's a bad game, have it on steam but god. Game is 4 years old and NOW they want to release it on PS3. Idiots
They aren't actually going to release it. They talked about porting it once, but they haven't said anything in years. It's just often voted for by the readers regardless. It's stayed in the Top 30 this whole time.
